Sarah Crosbie, veteran radio voice, returns to radio at QR Calgary

Sarah Crosbie, an award-winning broadcaster, producer, and writer, has joined QR Calgary as the new host of "The Drive" from 3 to 6 p.m. Her relatable storytelling and community ties make her a natural fit for the station. With deep connections to Calgary and experience in radio, she aims to engage listeners with meaningful conversations.

CALGARY, January 3, 2024 – QR Calgary, Calgary’s number one radio station for News and Today’s Talk, announced that it’s adding a powerful voice to afternoons. Starting today, award-winning broadcaster, producer and writer, Sarah Crosbie, will be the new host of The Drive, heard weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m.

A passionate storyteller, Sarah began her broadcast career as the editor-in-chief of The Queen’s University Journal and then went on to be the features editor/news reporter for the Kingston Whig-Standard. In 2009, she made the move to radio to be the morning show co-host on K-Rock 105.7 and was also heard on Q107 Calgary and JACK 96.9.

“Bringing Sarah on board is a natural fit for the station,” said John Vos, Regional Program Director for 630 CHED and QR Calgary. “Her relatability and natural gift for telling great local stories will really resonate with listeners and deliver a must-listen experience every weekday afternoon on the new QR Calgary.”

“Hosting QR Calgary’s The Drive is a homecoming,” said Sarah Crosbie. “My ties to Corus Radio go back to when I hosted the morning show on Q107 in Calgary for seven years. I am so excited to be back and share stories and have conversations that matter to Calgarians.”

Sarah has deep ties to the community and has volunteered for many organizations such as the Salvation Army Coat Drive with the Calgary Stampeders and has emceed the CIBC Run for the Cure.

A recipient of an Ontario Association of Broadcasters Community Service Award, she is currently a chase and technical producer with QR Calgary.
