The Rocket radio, Canada’s new Jack?
Rogers radio recently added The Rocket, to 98.1 HD-2 in Toronto. It is a hard rock based radio station that is on the Seekr App as well as on HD Radio.
The slogan for The Rocket is Canada’s Rock & Roll Flamethrower. From the limited listening I have done with it there is a decent selection of Rock music, and it is similar to a Jack format with a little older and newer mixed up.
The rumor I have heard in terms of this format, is that if it seems popular on the app or over the HD station, that is could replace some of the lower performing stations in the company. Could this be a station that is programmed as a Rock alternative to the Jack brand? Time will tell. For now I am going to Rock out to this and see how this sounds.
