No changes planned for Niagara stations
Oakville-based Whiteoaks Communications Group Ltd. has stated there will be no format changes at any of the 4 stations they are acquiring from Bell Media. CKTB 610 AM, Niagara’s Move CHRE 105.7 FM and HTZ-FM CHTZ 97.7 FM. As well as Bounce 102.9 CKLH in Hamilton. The four stations will be under the newly formed Golden Horseshoe Broadcasting Ltd.
They have also said they may be hiring soon. Currently programming in the middays/evenings and weekends on all 4 stations come from Bell owned stations in other markets. Most of which is not being sold. The only thing that will change for sure will be the names of Move and Bounce Radio.
“There are certainly no changes anticipated in the short term, or the long term for us,” said Whiteoaks president Matt Caine. “We don’t plan to change any of the formats or staffing. Everyone would be offered the same (or) at least equal employment with us. We’re really excited to expand our business that way.”
