Former King 5 Meteorologist Chris Nunley out of job

1 min read

From Wayne Lynch on X @TVMavenSeattle he posted this,

The gutting of KTUL in Tulsa by SInclair (owner of @komonews) means that former KING5 meteorologist @chrisnunley is out of work after just moving to the station to be closer to his father and family. They had to know this was coming.

Chris Nunley had been updating viewers on King 5 about a health issue within the family and in August he left to move closer to family. It is a shame he lost his job within 2 months of his arrival.

Sinclair Broadcast Group’s KTUL Tulsa named Chris Nunley as chief meteorologist for the station branded as NewsChannel 8.

Nunley, who was weekend morning meteorologist at Tegna-owned KING Seattle, will deliver forecasts at KTUL weekdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

He is replacing chief meteorologist Dan Threlkeld, who is retiring.

  1. Shame on you for kicking Chris Nunley out of a job just two months after you hired him.

You had to know this was in the works when you hired him.

I am no longer watching channel 8 news and weather again.

So disappointed in the powers that be.
