Bob Rivers, radio host and Twisted tunes singer has passed away

According to a post on insideradio.com award-winning air personality, RIAA-certified song parodist, and Radio Hall of Fame inductee Bob Rivers, 68, has passed away. Longtime agent Paul Anderson told Inside Radio that Rivers passed away this morning. Rivers was diagnosed with esophageal cancer three years ago.

Rivers spent 25 years hosting mornings at rock stations KISW and KZOK, and classic hits KJR-FM (now KJEB) Seattle.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lisa; his sons, Andrew and Keith (wife Leanne); and his granddaughters, Hazel and Georgia Rivers. He was the eldest of seven siblings, including sisters Beth Doornweerd, Katherine Kenney, Mary Redman, Patty Tedford, and brothers Michael Rivers and Richard Rivers.

A private service will be held on Friday in Claremont, NH, with a public memorial in Seattle to be announced.

  1. Bob and I did a Wake Up Call in the 80’s to my boss where I worked. He played it many times on the radio and called it a classic Wake Up Call! I have a copy on a cassette that I want to get put on a disc. glad to make a copy!!
