More Harvard Cuts
Earlier this week 95.7 Cruz FM morning hosts Grant Johnson and Jimmy P. White were let go. They had been part of The Locker Room with Lochlin Cross until he was let go earlier this year.
As I mentioned previously most of the shows on Harvard stations are airing on multiple stations. Now it seems Cruz mornings in Edmonton will be from out of market.
In the next week or so, I am going to do a deeper dive on the future of Harvard and other radio companies with all the cuts, sales and changes happening.
It looks like Cuz has a new morning show Cruz Mornings with Mark and Jess but we don’t have a start date for these people yet.
I don’t like the new morning format. The presenters are not what I would consider “morning” motivators”. Their material is more for later in the day.
Thank you for making the appropriate changes. I can now listen to your station in the mornings again. I’ve always loved the music but the commentary between was less than.
I saw a post on 95.7 Cruz’s Instagram page saying that something is gonna happen at 8:00 on Tuesday September 2nd. They announced a new morning show called Edmonton’s Sports Talk so I wonder if Cruz is gonna turn to a sports station
They would not be allowed to go to a full on sports or talk station without applying to make that change with the CRTC. Currently they have not made any applications. I actually wonder how this show would work based on the fact they are a music station and there is 3 hours devoted to strictly sports talk now. I am betting they might have to add music during each hour to fulfill the requirements of a music station licence. That is why you see a lot of FM morning shows even Crash and Mars that are talk heavy but still play some music.
