John-Angus MacDonald joins 94.9 The Rock

Lead Guitarist and founding member of the Trews is joining 94.9 The Rock Oshawa, as the new host of Generation Next Radio.

Generation Next Radio is heard weeknights at 8pm and on weekends at 11am and 8pm. The show is all about finding good unsigned talent to get there music heard. Over the last 12 years there have been over 1200 bands featured, including The Glorious Sons, Greta Van Fleet, Crown Lands, Stuck on Planet Earth, and Cleopatrick.

The show has been hosted most recently by Sean Kelly, a guitarist who has worked with Alan Frew and Lee Aaron among others. Previous to Sean Kelly it had been hosted by Brian Moncarz and Christian Tanna of I Mother Earth.

MacDonald rounds out a very talented lineup starting with Craig and Lucky first thing in the morning, Loriann follows up in middays, Doug Elliott and Meital Sperling get ya back home while Toronto radio legend Lee Eckley handles evenings and yes a real live all night show with Canadian TV icon Ed the Sock, The All Night Show with Ed the Sock. Ted Reader and Christian Pritchard are the celebrity chefs, Cone McCaslin of Sum41 hosts Cone’s Cave Sundays at 7 and Jeff Woods is in a couple times Saturdays at 6 with Records and Rockstars and for 6 hours every Sunday at noon for Classic Rock Sundays with Jeff Woods.

  1. Speaking of new people being added to radio stations, some rumours reportedly say a new host is coming to UP! 99.3 in Edmonton and all that the station said about it said it’s someone famous so I don’t know who that host is
