Matt Barron is leaving Kiss Winnipeg

This was posted today on the Kiss 102.3 Facebook page

Today is my last day on KiSS! 😢

I want to thank you for welcoming not only me but my family on the air – as they were a big part of my show prep on this chill little midday affair I’ve constructed over the last two years.

This was one of the hardest decisions of my life and in the end was based on just that: family…we’ve moved home to Newfoundland to be closer to them.

While I’d love to continue remotely, I truly believe Winnipeg deserves someone live and local – and I couldn’t be happier with who’s coming next because she wears this community on her sleeve!

I’d like to also thank my Content Director Mike Uhrich for the guidance and friendship, Darren Jopka and his amazing sales/admin team, Jaime and the promo crew, Riley in engineering, Brad in production, Shem and the R&M Show, and the wildly talented Drew Kozub!

And of course, the world class team on our sister station 92.1 CITI.

The city of Winnipeg will always be home to me…the people, the culture, the food(oh god THE FOOD🤤), the sports, and the feeling of never being bored – it’s shaped me into who I am today and I’m forever grateful.

This place has a rawness and a realness that is unmatched and I always felt like I truly belonged.

Thank you! 💜
