On this day in 2006 Eminem filed for divorce from his wife Kim less than three months after the couple re-married. Eminem first married his high school sweetheart Kimberly Scott in 1999. He fantasised about her death in his 2000 hit ‘Kim’ and their first marriage ended the following year. The couple remarried on 14 January 2006. Eminem was seeking joint custody of their 10-year-old daughter Hailie Jade Scott.

He was twice married to Kimberly Anne Scott; he met Scott in high school while he stood on a table with his shirt off rapping LL Cool J’s “I’m Bad”. Scott and her twin sister had run away from home; they moved in with Eminem and his mother when he was 15 and he began an on-and-off relationship with Scott in 1989.

Mathers and Scott were married in 1999 and divorced in 2001. Although Eminem told Rolling Stone in 2002, “I would rather have a baby through my penis than get married again”, he and Scott briefly remarried in January 2006. He filed for divorce in early April, agreeing to joint custody of Hailie. Their daughter, Hailie Jade is a social media influencer, specifically for fashion and beauty.

“Stan” is a song by American rapper Eminem, with vocals sampled from the opening lines of British singer Dido’s song “Thank You”. It was released in 2000, as the third single from Eminem’s third album, The Marshall Mathers LP (2000). “Stan” peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. Outside of the United States, “Stan” topped the charts in 12 countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, and Ireland.
