Marilyn Manson's cover of "Sweet Dreams" by the Eurythmics propelled him into the mainstream in 1995. Hailing from his controversial album "Smells Like Children," his fame and divisive persona led to subsequent successes, including a song for WWE. Yet in 1999, a Perth concert injury incident involving 400 people marked his tumultuous career.

Today’s song is a cover of the Eurythmics, Sweet Dreams. This is the Marilyn Manson version that was released in 1995. It comes from the album Smells Like Children. This was the song and album that really led Marilyn Manson into the mainstream. It also followed a lot of controversy over the next many years because of his songs and his on stage persona. Despite all his controversy another song that was released later on was the theme for WWE Smackdown from 2001-2003.

On Feb 1 1999 Four hundred people were injured at an Australian concert by Marilyn Manson when he stormed off stage after being bombarded with missiles and abuse at the show in Perth. One of Manson’s guitar technicians needed treatment for cuts to his head.
