It was on this date in 1987 that this song became R.E.M.’s first entry into the Top 10 on US singles charts. It reached number 9 in the US and number 14 in Canada. Q magazine, in 2005, placed this song at number 57 in its list of the top 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks. This song was also included on R.E.M. Live (2007), and it was included in Activision’s Guitar Hero World Tour and Guitar Hero on Tour: Decades, both in 2008, as well as Harmonix’s Rock Band 4 (2015).
