"Never Tear Us Apart" by INXS, fronted by the late Michael Hutchence, was a significant hit. Known for captivating performances, INXS received multiple ARIAs and was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. The song received high rankings in the UK, US, and Australia, even re-charting after a mini-series about the band in 2014.

Today’s song is Never Tear Us Apart, by INXS. In 1997, Michael Hutchence, the 37-year-old frontman of INXS, took his own life. During his career, the magnetic singer, songwriter, and actor captivated audiences with hits like “Need You Tonight,” “Never Tear Us Apart,” and “New Sensation.” The best-selling Australian band, which earned multiple ARIAs during Hutchence’s lifetime, was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2001.

The single reached No. 24 in the UK, and stayed on the charts for seven weeks. In the US, it reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In February 2014, after the Channel 7 screening of INXS: Never Tear Us Apart mini-series, “Never Tear Us Apart” charted again in Australia via download sales. It peaked at No. 11 on the ARIA Singles Chart, surpassing its original peak position of No. 14 back in 1988
