Song of the day for Halloween 2023

"Monster Mash", a novelty song by Bobby Pickett, dominated the airwaves in 1962, becoming the single most well-loved Halloween anthem. Released on Gary S. Paxton's Garpax Records, it topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart just before Halloween. Remarkably, nearly 60 years on, it re-entered the Hot 100 chart at number 37 in 2021.

Today’s song is a fitting song for Halloween, it is the Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett. In 1962 the “Monster Mash” rules the airwaves, becoming the most popular Halloween song of all time.

Monster Mash is a 1962 novelty song that was released as a single on Gary S. Paxton’s Garpax Records label in August 1962 along with a full-length LP called The Original Monster Mash, which contained several other monster-themed tunes. The “Monster Mash” single was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on October 20–27 of that year, just before Halloween. It has been a perennial Halloween favorite ever since.
