Tyler and Lynch out at CFOX plus others (updated)

Apparently Corus swung the axe again and let go of on air staff across different stations. Local favorites Tyler and Lynch were let go today from CFOX. Drex was filling in for the afternoon show. Not sure if it is permanent or temporary. Tyler and Lynch came to CFOX in June of 2021, previously they were the morning show hosts at The Peak, and previous to that they were at X92.9 Calgary.

Word is Corus has let go of all on air staff (local based) in Ottawa. Tucker and Maura (Jump) and Tara Dawn (Boom) and probably Mr D (Jump) are all based out of other markets. Tucker and Maura are the morning show at Edge, Tara Dawn is mornings at Fresh Barrie, and Mr D is on several stations in Ontario.

The Corus building was sold and the land is scheduled to be redeveloped so the Corus studios were going to relocate and apparently it was going to be to Cornwall. So the assumption now is that all local hosts left in Ottawa were let go. Something tells me Boom and Jump will go the same way as the stations in Kingston. 2 shows one from 6-12 and the other from 12-6 and both hosts on each station are from out of market.

According to Daily Hive, they were able to independently confirm the details of some of the firings, including that of the former lead producer of Mornings With Simi, with multiple sources. Additionally, we were informed that CKNW’s receptionist was let go.

If the rumours of Ottawa is all let go, then it will impact BIG FM Kingston as well as morning show host Dave Nelson is one of the hosts based in Ottawa. So it appears a lot of changes are on the horizon.

Some of the confirmed names are Tim Morgan, Dylan Black, Dave Nelson, Jimmy Kalaitzis from Boom Ottawa. Darryl Adams of Boom Cornwall is also off the website. Dayna Brez of Jump was also let go.

Word is Dan Allaire will replace Dave Nelson at Big FM Kingston. Big Mornings in Barrie used to be hosted by Tim Morgan, will be replaced but currently no information on the website.

Jeremy Baker is now listed as the afternoon show host on CFOX officially moving from evenings and weekends.
