moves from 10 to noon, sandwiching the new local program which was to

Legendary Vancouver Province rock critic, musician and broadcaster Tom
Harrison has died. Early in his career he was the music director at the
University of BC campus radio station, then wrote for The Province for
37 Years. He later hosted a cablevision TV show Soundproof and Demolisten
on CFOX-FM 99.3, playing demo tapes and CDs of local bands. Harrison

programs at KING 5 Seattle, has passed away. Most recently, she worked

Forks has applied to the FCC for a Special Temporary Authority (STA) to
operate its HD at -10 dB instead of the normal -14 or -20. Digital

will put in her last day on Friday after just under three years at

who has announced she is in complete remission from cancer. She was

Veteran CNN award-winning Senior Investigative Correspondent Drew
Griffin, died Saturday at age 60 at his home in the Atlanta area after a
long battle with cancer. He began his reporting career as a reporter/

reporter for KIRO-TV Seattle from 1991-94, joining CBS 2 News Los

Vancouver on the air. Due to financial and COVID issues, NNB had
originally abandoned plans for the new station this past Spring with the
construction permit expiring in June. Since then economic conditions at
NNB have drastically improved and they now wish to proceed with the

has reversed its decision to pause Twitter posting because of concerns
about the social media platform under new ownership. After a 40-hour
pause, the directive to stations is over, but no specifics have been

stations across the U.S. have been told by the network to pause
Tweeting while it monitors the social media site following the takeover
by Elon Musk. This would affect KSTW-TV
Seattle, which has not tweeted since Friday night. The network itself
has also paused activity. The directive presumably would not affect CBS
affiliates owned by other companies, such as KIRO 7 Seattle. FTV Live
The confusion comes with CBS O&Os like KSTW, which does not run CBS
programming, and is an affiliate of the CW, owned by Nexstar.

Alan Walker, who passed away May 19 at age 83. He joined CBC in 1958

in Victoria on Tuesday, August 23rd at age 70 after a long bout with
cancer. During his career he worked at radio stations in the Okanagan

Victoria. Biro received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the
Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2011. The family will

8/06/22 - Salem Media Group is selling two of its AM stations in Seattle. Catholic network operator Relevant Radio has purchased KLFE AM 1590 for $500,000. Baaz Broadcasting will acquire Regional Mexican La Patrona 1680
KNTS Seattle for $225,000. In the sale filings, Salem requests a waiver
as KNTS is the expanded band replacement for KLFE. Rather than
deactivate the operating expanded band station and turn in its license
as the FCC rule would require, Inspiration seeks to sell that station to

has taken a turn for the worse. He is entering palliative care/ hospice
in the next day or so. It turns out that the stroke was bleeding in the
brain, caused by a very fast spread of colon cancer, only diagnosed a
month ago. He is awake but not able to verbalize. Hennessy was
President of CHHR-FM 104.1 (now CHLG-FM) when it swapped frequencies
with KAFE-FM 104.3 Bellingham in January 2010, which reduced
interference with KMCQ-FM 104.5 (now KLSW-FM) Covington.

month marks 100 years since the first radio stations started
broadcasting in Vancouver. On March 14, 1922 the Vancouver Daily
Province stated that its Station FE (CFCB) had signed on the day before.
The Sun stated on March 15th, "We have been operating for several days"
with station CJCE. CFYC started broadcasting March 23, licensed to
Trans-Canada Radiovox Ltd. On April 20 Radio Specialties Ltd. opened

has been recognized with a stamp. Vancouver’s first lady of jazz lays
claim to be the first Black performer in North America to host a TV

with regular physio will regain his mobility.

passed away December 23 at age 95. He was a DJ in the early 1960s on
KFHA AM 1480 Lakewood WA & also briefly hosted a western music show
on KTVW-TV Tacoma. Howard was also a regular on Channel 13's Country Jubilee. Most recently he had been hosting a weekend vintage country music show on classic country trimulcast Real Roots Radio WBZI, WKFI & WEDI in Ohio.
