1/29/21 - Veteran KOMO News Seattle broadcaster Elisa Jaffe
has announced she has breast cancer, but it was discovered early. She
is urging others not to postpone mammograms. Elisa joined KOMO in 1987
and has been a field reporter, TV news anchor, host and executive

Tacoma/ Seattle is one of five non-profit jazz stations to receive
grants totaling more than $1.3 million to participate in a collaborative
new program to strengthen jazz radio and its engagement with artists
and diverse audiences. Each will receive grants of up to $275,000 over

following an altercation at a Vancouver courthouse involving a man who
allegedly refused to wear a mask and got physical with police, leaving

Surrey into a new control room, which is part of a larger system that
will eventually have four on air controls rooms, two production rooms,
two edit/ voice track/ production rooms and a large news room. The back
bone of the system is in two equipment rooms. The system is based
on a Wheatstone Wheatnet AOIP digital network. The on air playout system

anchor John Copsey, who died Monday, one day before his 54th birthday.
He spent seven years as news anchor/ reporter at CJOB Winnipeg before

his most recent position as Network News Anchor with Global News

Vancouver radio sales manager Alan Anaka died January 14 at age 85. He
had a very successful career at CKLG, CJOR and CKNW before taking the
position of Sales Manager at CHQR Calgary, where he later became

Radio’s Chief Engineer for Alberta South after 48 years in radio. He was

KWPZ-FM Lynden morning co-host and Operations Manager Jim Bouma died
unexpectedly Tuesday at age 61. A cause of death hasn’t been announced.

88.1 Vancouver, a rebroadcasting transmitter of CBU AM 690 Vancouver

and decreasing the effective height of the antenna above average terrain

1/15/21 - The Bull KNUC-FM 98.9 Seattle adds syndicated The Bobby Bones Show in mornings, replacing Fitz, who left last month. The station has

(he was one of the "originals" that was laidoff when BCE bought CHUM),
