In 1996, Babylon Zoo's "Spaceman" dominated the UK singles chart for five weeks, selling 420,000 copies in just six days. The song, known for its distorted guitars and robotic vocals, also reached number one in twenty-three other countries. Originally featured in a Levi's jeans commercial, the track was the lead single from their debut album, "The Boy with the X-Ray Eyes."

Today’s song is from the band Babylon Zoo. It’s called Spaceman.

In 1996 Babylon Zoo started a five-week run at No.1 on the UK singles chart with ‘Spaceman’, the fastest selling single by a debut artist in the UK, (420,000 copies in 6 days). The song was used for a Levi Jeans TV commercial. The single also went to Number 1 in twenty-three other countries.

“Spaceman” was released on January 15, 1996 as the lead single from their debut album, The Boy with the X-Ray Eyes (1996). Featuring heavily distorted guitars and metallic, robotic sounding vocals, the song entered the UK Singles Chart at number one on 21 January 1996 following its use in a Levi’s jeans television advertisement the previous year; “Spaceman” was the sixth song to reach number one in the UK after being featured in a Levi’s advert.
