Ottawa radio icon Ken ‘The General’ Grant has died

Ken "The General" Grant, a prominent figure in the Ottawa radio industry, has passed away at the age of 88. Known for his morning broadcasts on CFRA during the 1960s through the 1980s, Grant was a familiar voice to many, ending his sessions with the signature sign-off, "Forward ho!".
One of the icons of the Ottawa airwaves, Ken “The General” Grant, has died.
He was 88.
If you grew up in the Ottawa area in the 1960s, 70s or 80s, Grant was the voice of the morning on CFRA. Grant marched thousands of children off to school every day with his famous “Forward ho!” sign-off.
CFRA is extremely sad to learn of the passing of one of the greatest personalities in the history of our station. Ken "The General" Grant was a legend of Ottawa radio.
